How to Find The Casterbridge Guest House, Dorchester

By Road

Bus and coach services run to London, Bournemouth, Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Salisbury and all local towns.

Car hire can be arranged locally.

Those wishing to navigate by postcode-recognising GPS should enter "DT1 1HU" which will bring you within a few yards of our door.

Parking: 3 day permits for the public car park are obtainable from reception. These permits are valid for other car parks in the area. Additional overnight parking is available, please ask at reception.

By Air

Dorchester is in central southern England.Bournemouth International Airport at Hurn is 35 miles east of Dorchester. Southampton and Exeter airports are both around 55 miles and Bristol is 68 miles away. The London airports, Heathrow and Gatwick, are 115 and 138 miles respectively. Please tell us beforehand if you are on a very early or late flight or, if possible, if you expect to be delayed.

By Rail

Dorchester South Station is on the main line from London Waterloo to Weymouth. There are hourly trains to London and Southampton (and Southampton Airport). Change at Waterloo and St. Pancras for Eurostar services to Brussels and Paris, change at Poole or Southampton for services to the east and north of Britain.

Dorchester West Station provides direct services to Bristol, Cardiff and Weymouth. Change at Cardiff, Newport or Bristol for services to Wales, the Welsh Marches and the Midlands. Change at Bristol, Bath, Westbury or Yeovil for trains to the southwest.

Both stations are approx. 15 minutes walk from the hotel and taxis are usually waiting in the ranks.

By Sea

The ferry terminals at Weymouth and Poole are close by. Guests on early or late sailings are advised to discuss arrangements at the time of reservation.
